Certified Brainspotting Practitioner and Coach
Patricia Cobb is a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner and Coach with over 35 years of experience in mental and behavioral health, and trauma-informed and trauma sensitive care. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University, alongside advanced training in the Global Mental Health Trauma Recovery Program from Harvard Medical School, and Certification and advanced training in Brainspotting from the Brainspotting International Association. Her background includes leading trauma-informed care initiatives, developing a model called Circles of Connection & Resilience for social-emotional growth in young people, and working across community mental health systems from New York to outside the US. She has worked with organizations, hospitals, programs, communities, policy advocates and educators — providing leadership at a systems level and advocating for system-level transformation rooted in the belief that mental health and well-being service delivery models should be designed by, for and with the people they serve.
All of this work led Patricia to focus solely on her Coaching and Brainspotting practice, seeing this as the way to blend her experience, education, training, and deeply held belief that people carry within the capacity for their own healing and growth — her role is to become your partner in creating the conditions for that to unfold. Brainspotting is a brain-body technique that helps people access and process emotional experiences that make words hard to find. Regulating the nervous system unlocks our potential to thrive. Where coaching helps you clarify goals and build forward momentum, Brainspotting helps clear the stuck places — old stress, trauma, or emotional blocks — that get in the way of that progress. Together, they support change that's deeply felt, and long-lasting.
Her Brainspotting Practice welcomes anyone over 18, whether you're navigating a life transition, working through past experiences that still show up in your present, removing blocks to improve outcomes in sports, performance, academics, work, or creativity, or simply wanting to grow into a more grounded version of yourself, Patricia offers a space that's compassionate, personalized, grounded, and person-centered. During your initial free introductory session, you will discuss your goals and what is happening in your life that is causing you distress. Patricia will then introduce you to the neuroscience behind Brainspotting, as well as offer you an opportunity to experience a critical principle of the model, "where we look affects how we feel." Together, you will look at the question of whether Brainspotting/Coaching is the right approach to meet your needs.
If you're curious and ready to begin, book your free introductory session by emailing Patricia at pcobbrichardson@gmail.com.
