The Science Behind Kundalini

Kundalini is a spiritual energy that exists at the base of the spine.  A kundalini practice activates that energy with chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses.  During a Kundalini practice, participants can strengthen their nervous system, awaken their inner willpower, creativity, and intuition, balance the left and right hemisphere of their brain, clear their mind fog, open their heart center, and increase their capacity for compassion.

Kundalini is often referred to as “the yoga of awareness.” Kundalini practice brings participants to the present moment with no room for outside distractions. The practice allows for participants to thrive unders stress which increases the plasticity between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.  In addition, Kundalini practice offers poses and movements that are designed to put pressure on specific areas of the body that increases the flow of blood and energy to specific glands and organs when the poses are released promoting healing and power within the body.

In this workshop, Peter and Jason guide participants through a Kundalini yoga practice, additional Wim Hof breathing techniques, and a full chakra healing sound bath.   Jason and Peter are Wim Hof method certified instructors who have trained directly under Wim Hof and led over 50 workshops. In addition to the Wim Hof Method, they are both 400 Hour RYTs (200hr power vinyasa/ 200 hr kundalini yoga) and firewalk instructors.
