The holiday season is upon us and so is our 2023 Holiday Thrive Guide.
To Thrive is to prosper, grow, and flourish even when in the midst of stress, pain and struggle. We know that THRIVING is possible. Here are some of our sure fire ways to get you started on your Holiday Journey.
Cultivate Gratitude: Shift your mindset to one of abundance and begin to notice the small blessings that exist all around. The human brain is wired for survival. Feelings of abundance and gratitude move us away from a singular focus on stress and allow us to focus on the positives that surround us.
Prioritize Self-Care: When you care for yourself, you are able to show up more authentically in your life and for those you love. Remember, self-care looks different to everyone. For example:
- Catrina likes to set appropriate boundaries, remain present, and focus on the question, “What do I need right now?”
- Lisa cares for herself by spending time with her family and going on a Christmas Day hike.
- Marisa enjoys a night in watching a movie and eating holiday treats.
- Maxine listens to her own needs and takes rest breaks with her dog, Otto, and a good book.
What is your holiday self-care practice?
Reduce Expectations: Holidays can be full of obligations. So, practice the pause before giving in to them or before setting unrealistic expectations of yourself or others. These kinds of expectations can lead to feelings of disappointment, relational stress, and financial problems.
“The holidays stress people out so much. I suggest you keep it simple and try to have as much fun as you can.” ~ Giada De Laurentiis
